About HPCF 
The High Performance Computing Facility (HPCF) is a cross School collaboration at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).
Computer Resources:
Wildcat
The primary compute cluster consists of 512-core Intel Xeon Nehalem X5550-based system with 3GB per core, alongside 16 cores which are 'fat memory'; these are x5560 cores with 24GB per core. Combined this gives a total of 528 cores which are fully integrated within the compute cluster, providing particular provision for memory-intensive applications.

A NVidia S1070 GPU-based system is integrated with two servers in the computer cluster along with two visualisation servers with NVidia C1060 GPU cores. The C1060 systems will primarily be used for training and code development, before porting to the S1070 for more serious running.
A Lustre cluster serves a high performance parallel distributed filesystem which provides a fast I/O throughput for all the nodes on the network.
